Straghn & Son Tri-City Funeral Home founded by the late Alfred (Zack) Straghn & Elois Straghn was built on their strong desire to become owners of their own facility. Mr. Straghn worked at Coleman Funeral Home, West Palm Beach for more than two decades there Mr. Straghn gained the knowledge and skills to open the doors of what is now known as Straghn & Son Tri-City Funeral Home. Upon its inception, Straghn & Son Tri- City Funeral Home is family owned and operating serving the surrounding counties, states and internationally for over 44 years. After the unfortunate death of the late Alfred (Zack) Straghn, Ms. Elois Straghn now single owner and operator and her son Randy Straghn President. We are still proud and dedicated to provide the upmost service for the families we serve. Our family is passionate in serving the families who entrust their loves ones in our care.
Together with his wife Lois, Alfred ran the family business alongside their four sons, Randy, Maurice, Vincent, and Keith (deceased), providing professional services for over 60 years. Today, the legacy spans five generations, carrying forward the values and teachings of Zack and Lois Straghn.
The Straghn family has always emphasized the importance of community, offering not just funeral services but also emotional support and guidance during difficult times. Their commitment to integrity, compassion, and excellence has earned them the trust and respect of countless families in the Delray Beach area and beyond.
Alfred Straghn, a native of Palm Beach County, was born in Delray Beach. His wife Lois, originally from Miami, later settled in Delray Beach in 1948. Over the decades, they became pillars of their community. Alfred actively participated in several organizations, including serving as President of the NAACP, Village Elders, and W.A.R.C. (West Atlantic Redevelopment Corridor).
Mrs. Lois Straghn has been a steadfast partner and community leader, known for her wisdom and strength. She served as Recreation Director at Pompey Park, offering summer camps and activities for children who couldn’t afford them. Their business has grown tremendously, and their dedication has provided stability and support for the community during its toughest times.
The Straghns have been recognized with numerous awards and accolades for their service, but their true legacy lies in the lives they have touched. Today, Mrs. Lois Straghn continues to inspire with her wisdom and strength, ensuring the family’s mission and values live on for generations to come.
